NEWSTorque wrench

Torque wrench

The new dynamometric wrench code CUD80 which replaces the current CUD70, is intended exclusively for the implementation of the surgical and prosthetic procedures of the Easy Grip implant line. A medical device designed to be used only by specialized dental personnel. For the reprocessing of medical devices, the competent employees must have the minimum qualifications required by the statutory directives, the training requirements and the hygiene regulations.
The responsibility for the choice of the procedure and of the collaborators suitable for the use of the product lies with the operator.

Use
Immediately before each use, check the product for any signs of wear and/or deterioration, as well as a reduction and/or loss of functionality. Also, the tool must be mounted correctly.
Products that are damaged or have the aforementioned irregularities must be put away immediately and must no longer be used in the state in which they are!
Products with damaged sterile packaging (after reprocessing by the operator) must not be used and must undergo an additional reprocessing process in accordance with these instructions.

CUD80_1(Figure 1) Do not loosen both screws “X” on the adjustment nut, to avoid losing the factory pre-setting

Prosthetic adjustment: by operating the relative nut it is possible to continuously adjust the dynamometric range through the spring. The setting is visible on the scale of the graduated compass.

Surgical adjustment: function locked: Turn the adjustment nut up to the reference mark ∞ (infinity). Don’t overtighten. In this mode, the ratchet only has a fixed lever function.

Correct use of the torque applicator: to accurately apply the torque, only press on the handle of the adjustment nut (see arrow in Figure 2).
Apply torque, pressing only with one finger. Do not grip handle with thumb and forefinger to apply torque.
When the set torque is reached, the graduated sleeve bends relative to the axis at the head of the wrench. The application of the torque is perceived both soundly and tactilely.

Reconditioning
Transportation / Place of Use – Reprocessing: The first steps of proper reprocessing begin immediately after using the instrument on the patient.
If possible, remove coarse dirt and any residues of filling material, disinfectant or other medicines before storing the instruments.
Whenever possible, dry (closed system, moistened) disposal should be preferred.
It is good practice to avoid letting any residues on the instrument dry after use!
With both methods of disposal avoid waiting too long before proceeding with the reprocessing, e.g. all night or the whole weekend (possibly less than 6 hours).

Cleaning and disinfection: Only use cleaning and disinfectant solutions with a pH value between 4.5 and 10. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the products used (e.g.: intended use, dosage, action time, etc.) .
Arrange and store the components to be cleaned so that they do not overlap or touch each other to ensure proper washing of all component parts and the most effective cleaning procedure possible.

Preparation for decontamination: immediately after use (maximum within 2 hours) remove coarse dirt from the instruments.
Before cleaning (regardless of the cleaning method chosen), disassemble the various components of the torque ratchet wrench. Disassembly does not require the use of tools, just completely unscrew the adjustment nut and extract it (see Figure 3).
Be careful not to lose the plastic washer as this will affect the accuracy of the instrument. (The plastic washer should only be removed if it is visibly dirty).

Maintenance

Lightly lubricate the marked points (see Figure 3) with suitable lubricating oil.
Be sure to use, exclusively. suitable oils for the instruments (white paraffin oil free from corrosion inhibitors or other additives), approved for steam sterilization (taking into account the maximum applied sterilization temperature) and whose biocompatibility has been established. Always use the minimum amount needed. Assemble the ratchet and perform a bump test.

Caution: After assembly and prior to sterilization, the ratchet wrench must be in a loose position to max 15 Ncm.
